Carol Kamine-Brown of COHME-Innovator & Leader
Concerned Home Managers for the Elderly Inc. (COHME) has established a very innovative program to help their home health aides improve their lives in a variety of ways. A Social Work Career Specialist on staff provides the aides with the following: Information, referral and advocacy in obtaining benefits to supplement their income; guidance and support in career advancement /further education; a monthly newsletter highlighting aides’ accomplishments and offering tips on balancing their work/family lives. This commitment to our staff, which is helping to stabilize their lives, is resulting in even better care of our clients, who depend on us for reliable, compassionate and competent service.
