With a few clicks of a button labs can now be sent and received electronically. Data from labs can then be uploaded to the patient charts creating a quick, organized, and efficient working environment. Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory, 1857 86th St., Brooklyn, NY 11214 offers personalized service, face to face contact, and the ability to think outside the box. They have also invested heavily in their IT department to enable doctors to access their patient’s results from anywhere there is a secure connection to the Internet. Secure, Immediate Access to Patient Results.

Results of tests are posted as soon as they're available and can be sorted by patient name, ID number, date of service, date of birth, sex, or accession number. Reading results is as simple as clicking on the record you need.

Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption is activated when results are displayed. All testing data is encrypted - it cannot be intercepted during transmission.

Easy-to-Read, Customizable Report Views: The lab information system shows reference ranges and highlights abnormal results in red. You can control the highlighting and view reports in multiple screen formats. To ensure perfect hard copies every time, one report view is "print-ready."

With a click you can graph levels over time or view a cumulative report.

Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory participated in the First Annual NYC PCIP/eClinicalWorks User Conference on March 20, 2009. They demonstrate how Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory will seamlessly allow labs to be entered into patient charts and for patients to then have access to their lab results.   The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has chosen eClinicalWorks unified electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) as part of its Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) initiative. Initially, 1300 physicians serving the City's neediest communities are implementing eClinicalWorks EMR/PM, with the potential of expanding to additional providers. Participating physicians will also have access to eClinicalWorks Patient Portal to engage City physicians and their patients in more effective medical management.

Electronic health records help patients by speeding diagnosis, minimizing costly and life-threatening medical errors, and discouraging unnecessary tests and procedures. Doctors can know instantly lab results and patients can share their results with specialists in a timely manner.
“Using EHRs in primary care could actually improve people's health," said Dr. Farzad Mostashari, Assistant New York City Health Commissioner directing the City's Primary Care Information Project. “They improve care and place much-needed emphasis on preventive medicine." Dr. Mostashari emphasized the importance of integrating the doctors notes with the lab results at the conference. He encouraged the conference attendees to include Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory's interface.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has voiced strong support for EHRs. “We need to make EHRs as standard as stethoscopes in doctors' offices across the country," he said in a recent health policy speech. “That's because the essence of preventive care is information – information that patients, doctors, and other healthcare workers need so they can make the right decisions, at the right times."

Lenco Diagnostic Laboratory is proud to participate with EClinicalWorks and the NYC DOHMH in bringing state of the art health care to New Yorkers.
